In the face of social and political division, Slovakia rewrites its future with a united voice.
Challenge
The reality was shocking — the neo-Nazi party won close to 10% of the popular vote resulting in their party holding 14 of the 150 seats of the Slovak national council. One of the most debilitating aspects was that the leaders who wanted change couldn’t work together effectively or collaborate with any speed or scale.
Solution
In 2016, Unstoppable convened a series of one-day conversations for Slovak leaders in the corporate, political, not-for-profit, and media sectors called “Rewriting the Future of Slovakia.” Utilizing our unique model to uncover blindspots, each leader, one by one, discovered the debilitating limits of their long-standing assumptions about one another.
Results
Empowered by what they had created together, the group inspired a one-day march of over 100,000 Slovaks and within weeks the leader of the nationalist government, Robert Finco, resigned. Inspired by the unprecedented breakthroughs, Zuzana Čaputová, a young woman who stood for justice and equality ran for president. And against all odds, in the summer of 2019, she won.
